SOLDER GRAFFITI UNDER THE CROSSED SWORDS

IRAQ IS A BYO - BRING YOUR OWN DATE

The sell liquor and beer so that is not needed.

But I think traveling in the middle east would be better with a date or a friend.

It is also a "Carry your own" country.

I have label countries either you carry or you do not carry a lot in my newsletters.

I always recommend you carry. This is toilet paper. I do not understand.

I can stay in a 4 star hotel and they do not feel the need to provide.

In the end the simple complications of life are the most taxing on the nerves

and patience. Iraq is an extremely extremely easy country to travel.

The buses and taxis are cheap and easy. All transportation is easy.

The country is small and the Baghdad is in the center. Sort of a wagon wheel and

all revolves around Baghdad. Reminds me of Costa Rica and San Jose.

But the theft is lot worse in San Jose Costa Rica.

SO MANY PHOTOS

I am sitting here in the Palestine Hotel publishing or sending photos to my webpage. I have taken

so many photos that it is going to take about 3 hours or 9 dollars. In Erbil that would 3 dollars.

So I am in the high rent district.

What is interesting is to observe the individuals that come in and use the internet.

There is a woman that I have seen the last few time from TIME magazine and a Boston..Maybe Globe.

I am not sure. She lives in Europe or something. Not clear. There was just 2 soldiers here.

A man from Colorado that is trying to be a carpetbagger. I told him he read Gone With the Wind too much.

It flew over his head and was wasted ammo. But he is buying or has knowledge of scrap metal here.

The locals thieves are robbing all the metal and electrical lines. So there is a smuggling of copper and metal

out the country. When I drive by a scrap yard with the taxi driver he will also point over and say,

"Ali Babba" or Thieves.

There is some raping going on by the western world. All countries. Lots of French, Japanese here.

But the rape is a share venture and I think they consider it polite to not call it rape of the country.

But here I am, and the one guy ask or said I could meet a lot of interesting people upstairs.

Sounds like fun, and lots of crap. But I like to stay anonymous and I get enough talking with the press

in my own hotel and really like to have them think of me as a nobody. Which I am, but I like the ability

to take photos of them at will and make fun at will. Sort of anonymous and under the radar.

I have them in my sites and they do not know.

TECHIES ONLY - PROXY BLOCK

I am in a new internet cafe. The proxy is blocking my FTP.

I move now back to the Palestine Hotel. No problem there.

THE GAME PLAN, IF NO CALL AUDIBLES

Bus it to Basra. Hang around a day or two. Publish my newsletter.

Got to port. Look at ships.

Take a train up the center of Iraq to Baghdad. Stay a night or two.

Catch another train to Mosul. Stay a night or go to Turkey by way of the corner of Syria.

ANOTHER DAY IN BAGHDAD

HOT - Harrrar!

But OK. Got into the Military areas today. A Soldier in a Hummer drove us around to look at

lots of interesting things. The crossed Swords was excellent. I took maybe 100 photos

today and now am overwelmed with photos to publish. I am very excited.

Tommorrow Basra by bus.

TRAVEL ACCEPTANCE IN IRAQ - WHEN YOUR NUMBER IS CALLED

We are moving around Baghdad and Iraq almost without worries. No travel at night,

but there is little problem during the day. It seem very safe, but we are always remembering.

When your number is called. It is called. No way to stop it.

So I believe I have accepted and the Soldiers appear to have accepted. Do not worry.

The cards are being played. Accept.

But then again some Soldier said the other day,

"Best friend, worst enemy!"

He was talking about the USA!

Hello,

95 percent is lies in other blogs.

But I am not sure they know they are lying.

Life is about being able to see the world from all angles and take a photo.

They think I am lying and I think they are lying. Hard to prove either way.

But trust me. They have more money then me. Misery sells better then the truth.

I am here to have fun. They are really on a mission to make the world a worst place.

Glass half full or half empty crap.

Life is Good.
